Alumni

Sharing with Succes the future of our St. Rose Alumni graduating from York Catholic.

Daniel Dominick

Began his academic career at St Rose of Lima School in 2005 in the pre-k program. While at St. Rose School, he enjoyed student council and playing basketball for the St. Rose Hawks. Daniel developed his love of lacrosse at St. Rose School when Shooting Irish Lacrosse Club came to St. Rose School and hosted a lacrosse clinic. Daniel continued his love of sports at York Catholic, where he has played football and lacrosse since 7th grade. Daniel was a member of the York Catholic Varsity Club, the Ping Pong Club, and the Chess Club. Daniel is a senior at York catholic and will graduate in May 2019. He will continue his academic career at Duquesne University where he will pursue a degree in Psychology.

Jarred Kohl

YC Football 7-12th grade – Senior year Captain

YC Lacrosse 7-12th grade

Member of the YC Musical – Cinderella

Active member of the St. Rose Squires

College – Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA

Where he will play football and study Business and/or Financial Economics

What I loved about St. Rose – The thing I liked most was the ability to play outside.  The teachers allowed us to do what we wanted.  I came to St Rose from the Lincoln charter and I loved the green fields verses the concrete playground in the city.

Harris Kohl

YC Football 7-12th grade – Senior year Captain

YC Lacrosse 7-12th grade

Member of Student Council

Member of the National Honor Society

Active Member of the St. Rose Squires

College – Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA

Where he will play football and study Business and/or Environmental Science

What I loved about St. Rose – The St. Rose lessons were slightly behind what I had been learning in public school, but I soon realized why.  The lessons at St. Rose focused not on getting through their lesson plans quickly, but on how effectively they had built the foundation on which their students learned.

Ethan Higgins

Ethan is going to attend Elizabethtown College, and study Occupational Therapy. He also was recruited to play men’s soccer there. He has always loved a small school atmosphere (grade school, high school, and now college) where he can feel relaxed, and get to know the teachers and meet new friends. He said -- his favorite memories of St. Rose were the special person lunches ( figures it was about food), and his favorite teacher was Mrs. Connelly/6th grade.

At YC: Ethan was a 4 year varsity starter for soccer, member of the Ping Pong club and Varsity Club, and an Alpha Peer Helper. He still regularly volunteers at the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry. He has been a youth soccer referee since 14.

He’s so excited to move on to the next chapter of his life.

St. Rose of Lima School began recognition of a distinguished graduate of our school in the 2007-2008 school year. Our first recipient was Sister Mary Thomas, SSJ. It was most appropriate to have our first recipient a Sister of St. Joseph of Chestnut Hill as the Sisters of St. Joseph opened our school doors on Sept. 8, 1919. Please read about our recipient for this year and see our previous selections.
