Sixth Grade York Catholic Shadow Day
On Tuesday, September 30, 2026, the admissions team from York Catholic visited with our sixth grade students about the enrollment process at York Catholic. On Tuesday, November 17, our sixth grade students will spend the day at York Catholic for a shadow day. Stay tuned for more information.

Clean Out Your Closets and Support St. Rose!
Our first ever Savers FUNdrive is off to a great start! Please make sure you are updating your pledge online so we can plan accordingly. Items are due October 10, 2026.
Remember, we can accept the following to turn clutter into cash:
in white or black trash bags
Clothes: men's, women's & children's, coats, shoes, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, belts, backpacks, etc.
Household Textiles: bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linen tablecloths, curtains, pillows, etc.
in boxes
Small Household Goods: kitchen items (such as pots/pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, serving pieces and hand-held appliances), home decorative items, knick-knacks, toys, games, and small electronics.
Books & Media: paperback, hard cover & all genres.
*media needs to be boxed separately
*no encyclopedias or text books
Labeling Children’s Belongings
As the weather begins to change and students begin wearing sweaters and sweatshirts, our Lost and Found box begins to fill up. The Lost and Found box is also filling up with lunchboxes and water bottles. We ask that you please label your children’s belongings so that we are able to identify items left behind and get them back to their rightful owners.
Weis 4 School
Do you shop at Weis Markets? If you do, you can help our school by linking your Weis card to our school. This is an easy way to help our school earn money that can be used for a variety of things here at St Rose of Lima. Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences for students in grades K–6 will be held on:
- Wednesday, October 8 from 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Thursday, October 9 from 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
A sign-up link will be sent to families this weekend. Please note that once you select a time slot, changes to your appointment date or time cannot be made.
We look forward to meeting with you—either in person or virtually—during your scheduled conference time. Conferences must be kept to a 20 minute time limit.
The St Rose of Lima Gala is Back!
Join us Saturday, March 6, 2027, at the Yorktowne Hotel for a special event featuring an exciting raffle and silent auction. We are currently collecting donations for both the raffle and silent auction and would love your help! Businesses, organizations, and individuals are encouraged to consider donating items or experiences that would appeal to our guests.
Some easy donation ideas include:
- A week or weekend stay at a beach house or vacation home
- Business or themed gift baskets
- Jewelry or other specialty items
- Restaurant gift cards
- Spa services or wellness packages
- Event, concert, or theater tickets
- Golf packages or experiences
- Wine or liquor baskets
- Local experiences or excursions
- Professional services
- Other unique, higher-value items that you or your business may have access to and would be willing to donate
Every donation makes a difference! Your generosity will help make the raffle and silent auction memorable while supporting our event and its goals. CELL PHONES/ELECTRONICS/EARBUDS
Cell phones and electronic devices such as smart watches, earbuds/airpods, gaming devices, tablets, music players, radios, lasers, laser pens, non-St. Rose of Lima Elementary School laptops are prohibited to be kept with the student during the school day. Students are expected to turn their cell phones and devices into the Main Office at the start of the school day. No student may carry a cell phone during the day.
Cell phones and devices are not permitted to be kept “on the person”. Earbuds, AirPods, headphones, smartwatches and the like are not to be worn during the school day without approval of the Administration. These items listed go against the school and Diocesan policy.
Consequences will be issued according to St. Rose of Lima Elementary School and will be confiscated and turned into the Main Office. The student’s parents must come into the Main Office to retrieve the confiscated cell phones or devices. St. Rose of Lima Elementary School is not responsible for loss or damage to any cell phone or electronic device.
During the school day, communication between parents and students must be conducted through the school office. Students are not to call, text, or email their parents. Students must come to the Main Office to contact their parents.
Counselor’s Corner
I’m so glad it’s starting to feel more like fall! This is definitely one of my favorite times of year. We are starting to settle comfortably into our routines and schedules, and that really helps things begin to run smoothly.
Last week, I completed the rest of my introduction lessons in second, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. Mrs. Bloomfield’s class listened to a story and completed a matching activity to review what I do as the school counselor. Mrs. Yinger’s class and Mr. Eyster’s class made Fortune Tellers to review my role, and Mr. Murdocca’s class completed a matching activity about the three Domains of school counseling (Academic, Career, and Social/Emotional) to help them better understand why we cover the topics we do in our class lessons.
This week, the Kindergarten, First, and Second grade students listened to stories and completed activities to either introduce or review Bucket Filling. We talked about being kind, and what it means to ‘fill’ and to ‘dip’ into someone’s bucket, and what they can do to ‘fill buckets’ and show kindness to everyone around them.
